Sundance Horse Rescue and Sanctuary is an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit welfare organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of injured, neglected, abused, abandoned or unwanted horses. We provide horses with a safe, healthy haven to recover, heal and return to good physical and emotional health before being adopted into caring and loving, forever homes.

In just under 4 years, we have rescued and rehomed 125 horses.

We currently have 20 horses at either the Rescue or Sanctuary – 11 are available for adoption and we are actively looking for homes for 17 additional horses from their current homes to new forever homes.

We have also helped rehome, 26 goats, 5 sheep, 12 chickens and 8 pigs!

We need to raise $2,800 for another trailer load of hay and grain to get us through the winter months. We currently have 20 horses to feed, and several require soaked pellets and supplements due to age, dietary needs, dental issues, or weight management. We are spending hundreds of dollars each week just on grain.

Sundance Horse Rescue is honored to to lease a lovely piece of property in Penn Valley with 40 acres of lush grass, gentle hills and a large lake. At this time, 6 horses call the Sanctuary their home. We will be keeping up to 10 horses on this property. Photos below.
Your horse in the Sundance Sanctuary will enjoy a glorious life of year round grazing with supplemental hay in winter months, romping through the fields and trees and drinking and splashing in the half acre lake. There is plenty of shelter from trees and shelter structures and they are checked on and loved on every day. Supplements or medicine is also administered daily if needed. I am overwhelmed with heartfelt gratitude for all the support and love I have received in this journey of turning my dream of rescuing animals in need into a reality. We are here most every day caring for the animals and doing projects on the ranch. We welcome you to come visit the horses and other rescue animals, but since the rescue is located on our home property, we do ask for scheduled appointments. Please call or email for an appointment.
