Lacey – Summer 2021

 

Lacey is a gorgeous, sound 17-year-old OTTB mare, standing 16.2 hh, ready for arena or trail riding. She had a short career on the track and spent the past 15 years in the loving care of her previous owner. Due to financial difficulties, Lacey needed a new home, and we are so grateful to have welcomed this wonderful mare into our care.

 

Personality & Temperament:

• Sweet, friendly, and independent—follows guidance without being pushy

• Soft and quiet when groomed, playful after a bath or hosing

• Calm and easygoing, spayed, and well-adjusted to new herd mates

• Comfortable around dogs, cats, and other farm animals

• Gets along well in a herd, even with new arrivals

 

Riding & Training:

• Forward-moving like many Thoroughbreds but responds well to consistent cues

• Prefers English tack with leg cues and direct reining, but adaptable to Western

• Needs an experienced, soft-handed rider to help her relax and provide smooth rides

• Confident, capable, and willing to learn almost anything with consistent practice

 

Health & Care:

• Up to date on vaccinations, worming, teeth floating, barefoot trims

• Microchipped

• Recent photos and videos available

Lacey would thrive in a loving home with gentle pleasure riding, plenty of pasture time, and herd mates to bond with. She is the perfect mix of playful, affectionate, and trainable—a true pleasure to have around.
