Appaloosa cross 

Ozzy is a handsome 18-year-old Appaloosa cross gelding with a curious, thoughtful personality and strong presence.  He likes to think about things and communicates clearly about what he is comfortable with. He absolutely loves being groomed and will happily stand quietly beside you soaking up the attention and companionship.

 

Ozzy came to Sundance Horse Rescue through the December Nevada County Animal Control seizure involving more than 200 animals in Grass Valley. Since arriving, we have spent time helping him regain his health, decompress, and learn more about who he is.

 

What we believe is that Ozzy previously had experience as a trail horse – maybe in a trail riding string. He is very calm for tacking, mounting, and riding, and has a soft, willing demeanor under saddle. He rides nicely in both a hackamore and bosal and is very communicative about what he likes and needs, making him an honest and easy horse to understand.

 

He is currently up to date on vaccinations and deworming (12/25), dental care (5/26), and farrier work (4/2/26).

 

Ozzy has formed a close bond with Scarlett, a 26-year-old Missouri Foxtrotter mare, and we would truly love to see them remain together in their next loving forever home.
