SANCTUARY
We currently need space for four sanctuary horses but would like the ability to have more horses in sanctuary if the land and other factors allow. These horses are quiet, well-managed, and cared for consistently.
We carry our own insurance and would add your property as an additionally insured. We would handle ALL daily care, and respect neighbors, land, and livestock. If you currently have horses, we could discuss checking on and or feeding your horses daily as well – depending on the needs. Our goal is to provide a stable, long-term sanctuary setting where our Sanctuary horses can simply be horses.
Here are a few of our needs:
* 10+ acres of grazable land
* Secure fencing (no barbed wire)
* Within 10-15 minutes of the rescue property near Lake Wildwood
* If no fresh water source on the property, we would need to bring our 2,500-gallon water tank and trough for water for the horses
* If no available shelters or barn on the property, we would need permission to erect our pole-panel shelters for the horses to keep dry and warm in the winter.
* Understanding that we will be on the property daily to:
o Check on horses
o Feed hay/grain and administer medications as needed
o Coordinate farrier and veterinary visits
Would-Be-Lovely (but not required):
* A fresh water source (NID, NID overflow, rain-fed stream, pond, or lake)
* Existing shelters or a barn
If you—or someone you know—might be open to a conversation, I would be so grateful to hear from you. Even leads or ideas are appreciated.
SANCTUARY RESIDENTS
Sundance Horse Rescue is honored to to lease a lovely piece of property in Penn Valley with acres of lush grass and gentle hills. At this time, 6 horses call the Sanctuary their home. We will be keeping up to 10 horses on this property. Photos below.
Your horse in the Sundance Sanctuary will enjoy a glorious life of year round grazing with supplemental hay in winter months, and romping through the fields and trees. There is plenty of shelter from trees and shelter structures and they are checked on and loved on every day. Supplements or medicine is also administered daily if needed. If you would like more information, please contact us. We would love to have your beloved horse join our Sanctuary herd.
