Scarlett is a beautiful 26-year-old Missouri Foxtrotter mare with the sweetest soul and a gentle, loving personality. She absolutely adores attention and will happily stand quietly with you for grooming, scratches, and affection. One of her favorite things in the world is having her butt scratched, and she even gives hugs.

 

Scarlett came to Sundance Horse Rescue through the December Nevada County Animal Control seizure involving more than 200 animals in Grass Valley. Since arriving, we have spent time helping her regain her health, decompress, and show us more of her kind and affectionate nature.

 

She is very communicative about what she likes and responds beautifully to calm, gentle handling. Scarlett was ridden regularly earlier in life and now would likely be best suited for light riding. She has been easygoing enough to ride bareback in just a halter and seems happiest simply spending quiet time with her people.

 

She is currently up to date on vaccinations and deworming (12/25), dental care (1/26), and farrier work (4/2/26).

 

Scarlett has formed a close bond with Ozzy, an 18-year-old Appaloosa cross gelding. They clearly take comfort in each other, and we would love to see them remain together if possible in a loving forever home.
