Adopted!! October 2021
We are elated about his placement with a wonderful, experienced, horse-crazy gal nearby. He will be loved on, exercised and spoiled rotten. Congratulations to both of you!
September 2021: Epic is a handsome 16hh Bay Thoroughbred and has been at the rescue for several months. We have worked with him, ridden him, loved on him and understand him well. He originally came to us from a situation where the owner could no longer keep him due to financial challenges. Epic is an easy keeper and very well mannered, gentle and respectful. He is a good listener and learner - he wants to engage with you and please you. He stands still for minutes on end for the vet, farrier, grooming, etc. He loves attention, yet he is not pushy. He is patient for his treats and stands back and waits for his food until being told: "OK, Good Boy". He is good with children and loves hose and sprinkler play and toys. He free lunges very well and responds to walk, trot and canter. After you are bonded with him, he will follow you around obstacles off lead. He will cuddle with you by putting his forehead on your chest and let you hug him when he is lying down taking a nap.
Epic is comfortable being ridden bareback, or with a saddle. He is very willing to do what you ask of him and responds to a gentle touch and natural horsemanship. He is good in the arena, but likes being out on trail taking in the sites and smells. He responds well to leg cues and direct reining, but he was open minded to neck reining. Good in a herd and with dogs, cats and farm animals. We will want Epic to live in pasture with other horses/animals when he is not with his human family.
Epic is up to date on shots, worming, teeth float, barefoot trims and is microchipped. All photos/videos are recent. We would love for you to contact us to come meet him!
